Cardinals
- Cardinals players were as floored about the trade as much of the NFL world, with RB Chase Edmonds tweeting: “Yooooo finally. We got a whole ass armed robbery.”
- Per Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline writes the Cardinals were relieved WR Hakeem Butler ended up on injured reserve and they didn’t have to cut their fourth-round pick in 2019.
49ers
- Mike Silver reports the 49ers were one of the teams making a run at TE Austin Hooper before he signed with the Browns.
- 49ers DL Arik Armstead‘s six-year, $102 million deal includes $45.8 million guaranteed, $17.5 million of which came in a signing bonus. (Aaron Wilson)
- Armstead will make base salaries of $2.5 million (2020), $6.665 million (2021), $14.15 million (2022), $15.89 million in 2023, $17.41 million in 2024 and $17 million in 2025.
- His salaries in 2020 and 2021 are fully guaranteed, while $11.7M of his 2022 base is guaranteed for injury and $5.85 million becomes guaranteed toward the cap if he’s on the roster April 1, 2022.
- 49ers S Jimmie Ward‘s three-year, $28.5 million deal included an $8 million signing bonus with base salaries of $1.5 million and $8.4 million in 2020 and 2021. (Wilson)
- Ward’s 2020 base is guaranteed while $7 million of his 2021 base is guaranteed for injury at signing, $3.5 million for skill-cap at signing and another $3.5 million for skill/cap if Ward is on the roster April 1, 2021. Ward also has annual per-game active roster bonuses of up to $500,000.
Rams
- According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, QB Blake Bortles is weighing a return to the Rams as a backup.
- Per Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline writes the Falcons are still believed to be in the hunt for Rams DE Dante Fowler if he comes down from his price. Fowler could also re-sign with Los Angeles.
Seahawks
- According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Seahawks tendered restricted free agent C Joey Hunt and DE Branden Jackson.
- Seahawks DT Jarran Reed‘s two-year, $23 million deal includes a $10 million signing bonus with base salaries of $4.1 million guaranteed in 2020 and $8.075 million in 2021. (Aaron Wilson)
- Reed can make $25,000 per game on the active roster, plus a $500,000 annual sacks incentive and a $500,000 base escalator for sacks in 2021.
