NFL Notes: 49ers, Dolphins, Ravens, & Saints

49ers

49ers S Eric Reid told reporters on Wednesday that he’s hoping to sign a long-term extension with San Francisco.ย However, Reid admitted that the 49ers would still like to see more out of him.

โ€œThatโ€™s business, isnโ€™t it?โ€ Reid said, via CSN Bay Area. โ€œYou look at any form of business, not just football. They want to see production. I havenโ€™t had that conversation with them, but itโ€™s obvious to me that they want to see something. Thatโ€™s in all businesses.โ€

Dolphins

Dolphins LB Koa Misiย struck an individual in the head this past Sunday atย a club and attempted to flee the scene, according to TMZ Sports.

Misi was detained, but not arrest for the incident and isn’t facing charges as of now.

The Dolphins have already issued a statement regarding the matter: “We are aware of the reports involving Koa Misi and are continuing to gather information.ย We have no further comment at this time.” (Adam Beasley)

Ravens

  • Ravens RB Trent Richardson missedย OTA practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury. (Jamison Hensley)
  • Ravens TE Dennis Pitta (hip) said he’s feeling really good and isn’t worried about his prior hip injuries moving forward:ย “I know my situation more than anyone else. I’m not worried about it. I’m confident being out here.” (Jeff Zrebiec)

Saints

Saints HC Sean Payton doesn’t think Drew Brees‘ contract situation will be an issue for the veteran quarterback, as heย does a good job ofย compartmentalizing his off-field and on-field responsibilities.

โ€œHe does that extremely well,โ€ Payton said, via Pro Football Talk. โ€œHeโ€™s someone thatโ€™s extremely focused. Heโ€™s been sharp here these three days. I would say itโ€™s been a strength of his with regards to playing, the ability to focus, whatever situation weโ€™re in, and certainly this is no different.โ€
