NFL Notes: Chargers, Eagles & Patriots

Chargers

  • Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune reported that first-round DE Joey Bosa was in San Diego for a Saturday autograph signing, but has no plans to speak to the media until he signs his rookie deal.
  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk writes that the Chargers should consider giving into Bosaโ€™s demands to not have offset language included in his rookie deal and the cash flow heโ€™s looking for, considering that missing more time could impact his 2016 season.

Eagles

Eagles HC Doug Pederson mentioned that No. 2 overall pick QB Carson Wentz is likely to be inactive for games this season.

โ€œTypically, the third quarterback is down,โ€ said Pederson, via PhillyVoice.com. โ€œItโ€™s hard right now to look down the road, but if we had to play this week, Carson would be down. Heโ€™d be the third quarterback. Heโ€™d be deactivated. Thatโ€™s probably the direction weโ€™re heading, I would think is going that route. Obviously barring injury and, as you know, how this game is, but typically the third quarterback, whoever that is, is down on game day.โ€

Patriots

Patriots WR Julian Edelman says his surgically-repaired foot is โ€œfeeling a day better than yesterday,โ€ but didnโ€™t offer a date for him  to return to full action.

โ€œIโ€™m feeling a day better than yesterday, and Iโ€™m feeling a second better than the last second,โ€ Edelman said, via the Boston Herald. โ€œHopefully when that timeโ€™s up, that timeโ€™s up.โ€
