NFL Notes: Draft, Bills, Eagles, Falcons, & Titans

Draft

  • Iowa DT Carl Davis took pre-draft visits with the Cowboys, Dolphins, Lions, 49ers, Bills, and Bears. (Josh Katzenstein)

Bills

  • Peter Schrager reports that โ€œmultiple membersโ€ of the Bills front office are in Dallas to have dinner with Baylor QB Bryce Petty.

Eagles

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports mentions that it will be difficult for the Eagles to get up to No. 2 overall for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota given that they hold the No. 20 overall pick.

Robinson points out that QB Sam Bradford wonโ€™t sign a contract extension with a new team, which hurts his trade value.

Beyond that, the Titans GM Ruston Webster basically said they have around 16-17 first-round grades for this yearโ€™s draft class, per Robinson. Not all of these players would be targets for the Titans, so moving back to No. 20 overall wouldnโ€™t make a lot of sense for their situation, especially if they arenโ€™t getting a quarterback as part of the deal.

Falcons

Falcons new HC Dan Quinn said that they still have Missouri DE/OLB Shane Ray on their draft, even after his recent citation for marijuana possessions.

โ€œAbsolutely,โ€ Quinn said, via NFL.com. โ€œWhen weโ€™re going through the process, we felt good about him. He had a set-back and it was hard, but hopefully itโ€™s something he learns from and can move on from.โ€

Titans

Titans GM Ruston Webster told reporters on Tuesday that they have received calls regarding the No. 2 overall pick, but thereโ€™s nothing serious as of now. (Jeff Darlington)

โ€œBecause of players that are there, weโ€™d need to get value that will help our team now and in future,โ€ Webster said, per Darlington.

  • Webster confirmed that he hasnโ€™t spoken to the Chargers regarding a potential trade. (Jim Wyatt)
  • According to Webster, QB Zach Mettenberger will be a part of their plans moving forward no matter what happens in the draft. (Jim Wyatt)
