NFL Notes: Teddy Bridgewater, Chiefs, Cowboys & Vikings

Teddy Bridgewater

Vikings GM Rick Spielman told Peter King of The MMQB that part of the reason for their decision to trade for QB Sam Bradford was because โ€œno one knows how long itโ€™s going to take [Teddy Bridgewater] to recover.โ€

Chiefs

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters on Monday that it would be a โ€œstretchโ€ for G Jamaal Charles (ACL) to play in Sundayโ€™s opener.

โ€œI think itโ€™s a stretch for him to play on Sunday,โ€ Reid said, per BJ Kissel.

Cowboys

  • Cowboys RB Darren McFadden said he canโ€™t straighten his right arm all the way yet, and admitted itโ€™s โ€œup in the airโ€ if heโ€™ll ever be able to extend it all way again. (Brandon George)
  • Cowboys DE Charles Tapper said he suffered a back fracture, which has kept him out since early August. Tapper added that heโ€™ll need more time before he can return from the injury. (Todd Archer)

Vikings

  • Vikigs HC Mike Zimmer would not name a Week 1 starter on Monday, and instead said that both Shaun Hill and Sam Bradford will get first-team reps in practice this week. (Matt Vensel)
