NFL Rumors: Jim Harbaugh Rumors

Bay Area sports writer Michael Martinez tweets that he’s heard that Jim Harbaugh could become the next coach of the San Francisco 49ers as soon as today.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter has already reported that the 49ers meeting with Harbaugh at undisclosed location today to discuss the possibility of him becoming the head coach.

Despite all of the momentum that has been built around the idea of Harbaugh joining the 49ers, Cindy Boren of the Washington Post writes that the Oakland Raiders should not be ruled out as an option for Harbaugh.

Al Davis is always an “x” factor and could end up offering a huge sum of money to Harbaugh. Another thing to consider is that Harbaugh has ties to the Raiders because of the time he spent as the teams quarterbacks coach some years ago. This isn’t likely to be the deciding factor but it’s worth considering.

T he South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Jim Harbaugh’s friendship with Miami owner Steve Ross, paired with the likelihood that the Dolphins would be willing to offer Harbaugh a lucrative contract could push Harbaugh towards Miami.
