Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Panthers will decline their team option on WR Jarius Wright.
Wright was owned $1 million fully guaranteed from this option, but will now become an unrestricted free agent next month. The Panthers will gain $3 million of cap space from this move.
Wright, 30, is a former fourth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2012. He was in the fourth year of his five-year, $15.46 million contract that included $7 million guaranteed when the Vikings cut him back in 2018.
The Panthers later signed Wright to a two-year deal worth up to $3.5 million.
In 2019, Wright appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and caught 28 passes for 296 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
