According to Max Henson, the Panthers have promoted CB Josh Hawkins from their practice squad to their active roster.
He fills Carolina’s roster spot that was vacated by S Da’Norris Searcy, who was placed on injured reserve.
Hawkins, 25, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first two seasons in Green Bay, but was among their final roster cuts this preseason.
He signed on with the Panthers practice squad shortly after.
In 2017, Hawkins appeared in 15 games for the Packers and recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions, a forced fumble and six pass defenses.
