Patrick Crayton got his wish today, as the Cowboys have just traded him to the San Diego Chargers for a seventh-round pick. The Cowboys salvaged some amount of value for Crayton as it appeared that they would have just released him had they not found a trade partner.
Crayton will add some depth to the Chargers offense that is sure to be without Vincent Jackson this season. This could however be the end of either Josh Reed or Buster Davis who have been reported to be on the bubble.
This deal may pave the way for a Vincent Jackson trade. Getting Crayton for a seventh-round pick could be considered an added bonus to a lessor return for Jackson. We’ll keep you posted on this situation progresses.
