According to Field Yates, the Patriots andย TE Dwayne Allen have agreed to aย reworked contract that reducing his compensation for 2018.
Yates says that Allen’s $4.5 million compensation for the 2018 season and his $5 million cap figures have been lowered.
This is the second contract the Patriots have addressed on Thursday after they agreed to add $4.3 million of incentives to TE Rob Gronkowski’s contract.
Allen, 28, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2012. He signed a four-year, $29.4 million contract that included $16 million with the Colts in 2016 before he was traded to the Patriots last year.
In 2017, Allen appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots and caught 10 passes for 86 yards receiving and one touchdown.
