The New England Patriots announced the release of rookie WR Cole Stanford on Saturday.
Stanford, 23, signed on with the Patriots as a undrafted free agent out of Cal Poly less than a week ago.
In collage, Stanford began his career as a linebacker, but later converted to receiver during his freshman season at Cal Poly. He finished his collegiate career with 314 yards rushing, 43 receptions, 891 yards receiving and nine total touchdowns over the course of 42 games.
