ESPN’s Field Yates reports that the Patriots brought in former Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas for a tryout on Monday.
- New England also worked out QB Brock Jensen, TE Evan Wilson and TE Brian Wozniak.
Miami waived Thomas last week as they worked to get their roster down to 53 players.
Thomas, 26, is a former second-round pick, who never lived up to his draft status and has been largely underwhelming in each of his first three years in the league. Last season, Thomas ran for 406 yards on 109 carries (3.7 YPC) and contributed six total touchdowns.
The Patriots have a number of options at running back, so it would be surprising to see them bring Thomas in unless an injury occurred.
