According to Adam Schefter, the Ravens and CB Jimmy Smith have agreed to a one-year, $5 million extension.
The deal will keep Smith, who had been scheduled to be a free agent, in Baltimore for the 2021 season, as he’s proven to be a reliable option for the Ravens in the secondary.
Smith, 32, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2011. He played out the final year of his five-year, $54.89 million contract that includes $21 million guaranteed and re-signed with the Ravens on a one-year, $6 million deal for 2020.
In 2020, Smith has appeared in 11 games for the Ravens and recorded 27 total tackles, one sack, no interceptions and one pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 15 cornerback out of 126 qualifying players.
