The Baltimore Ravens are using a second-round tender on RFA LB Patrick Onwuasor for the 2019 season, according to Jamison Hensley.
The second-round tender will cost them $3.095 million for the 2019 season and ensure that they receive a second-round pick for him if they decline to match an offer he receives from another team.
Onwuasor, 26, wound up signing on with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent out of Portland State back in 2016. He was waived at the start of the regular season and later signed to their the Ravens’ practice squad.
Baltimore eventually called him up to their active roster in October and brought him back on an exclusive rights contract the following year.
Onwuasor will be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
In 2018, Onwuasor appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 56 tackles, 5.5 sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and three pass defenses.
