The Washington Redskins announced that they’ve placed former fourth-round pick S Phillip Thomas on waivers Wednesday.
- Washington also waived/injuredย CB Tevin Mitchel and signedย cornerbacks Bryan McCann and DreQuan Hoskey.

Thomas, 26, had one year remaining on his four-year, $2.585 million rookie contractย which included a base salary ofย $585,000 for the 2015 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Thomas ย will free upย $510,000 in cap space while creating noย dead money.
In 2014, Thomas appeared in eight games and recorded 27 tackles and fumble recovery. He previously missed the entire 2013 season after he sustained aย broken foot.
