Doug Kyed of NESN reported earlier in the day that former Eagles WR Jason Avant visited with the New England Patriots on Wednesday.
Avant had been spent all eight years of his career with the Eagles before they elected to cut him loose a little over a week ago.
The Kansas City Chiefs were mentioned as a potential option for Avant and the Patriots have already showed interest a few receivers, which seems to a normal occurrence for them during the offseason.
In 2013, he totaled 28 receptions for 447 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of 16 games.

Whoever gets Avant will have a hell of a WR…as an Eagles fan I have nothing but great things to say about him…I understand why we had to cut him…but there is definitely some life left in those NFL legs.
