Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Saints have picked up OL Andrus Peat‘s fifth-year option for the 2019 season.
Peat’s 2018 season came to an end after he suffered a broken fibula and a high-ankle sprain and was later placed on injured reserve.
Peat, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $11.393 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.988 million for the 2018 season.
In 2017, Peat appeared in 15 games for the Saints and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 45 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
