The New Orleans Saints officially signed six players to futures contracts for the 2019 season on Monday, according to Nick Underhill.
The full list includes:
- OL Nate Wozniak
- LB Darnell Sankey
- DT Tomasi Laulile
- DB Chris Campbell
- DB J.T. Gray
- QB J.T. Barrett
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Barrett, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Ohio State back in May before signing a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Saints. New Orleans elected to waive Barrett as they cut their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason and theyย later added him to their practice squad.
Barrett was on and off of the Saints’ practice squad throughout the year.
During his four years at OSU, Barrett threw for 9,434 yards while completing 63.5 percent of his passes to go along with 104 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He also rushed for 3,263 yards and 43 touchdowns.
