Jones, 23, is a third-round pick by the Seahawks of this year’s NFL Draft. He is in the first year of a four-year, $3.17 million rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary of $465,000 this season, to go along with another $578,000 next year.
In 2017, Jones appeared in 11 games for the Seahawks and recorded 19 total tackles, two sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery, and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 71 overall interior defender out of 124 qualifying players.
Swoopes, 23, signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in May. He was among the team’s final roster cuts as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit, but signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Swoopes converted to play tight end in the NFL after appearing as a quarterback during his college career.
During his four-year college career as a quarterback for Texas, Swoopes recordedย 281 completions on 499 attempts (56.3 percent) for 3,038 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
