According to Field Yates, the Steelers have restructured G David DeCastro‘s contract.
Pittsburgh converted DeCastro’s base salary into a signing bonus and created $3.85 million in cap space.
DeCastro, 30, is a former first-round pick by the Steelers back in 2012. He is entering the fifth year of a six-year, $58.07 million contract that incuded a $16 million signing bonus.
DeCastro was set to earn a base salary of $8.75 million each of the next two seasons.
In 2019, DeCastro started all 16 games for the Steelers and was graded by Pro Football Focus as the No. 17 overall guard out of 84 qualifying players.
