Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Vikings are not exercising their option on S Andrew Sendejo, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Sendejo, 31, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Rice back in 2010. He lasted just over a year in Dallas before he was claimed off of waivers by the Jets.
The Vikings later signed Sendejo to a four-year, $16 million contract that included $2.5 million guaranteed. Sendejo was set to make a base salary of $5.45 million for the 2019 season.
According to OverTheCap.com, this move will free up $5.5 million of available cap space while no dead money.
In 2018, Sendejo appeared in five games for the Vikings and recorded 27 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
