The Vikings announced that they are promoting LB Cameron Smith from their practice squad to the active roster and waived WR Davion Davis in a corresponding move.

Smith, 22, was a fifth-round pick by the Vikings in the 2019 NFL Draft out of USC. He signed a four-year, $2.8 million rookie contract but was waived coming out of the preseason and signed to Minnesota’s practice squad.
During his four-year college career with the Trojans, Smith recorded 354 total tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, four interceptions, 14 pass defenses, three fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, and scored one defensive touchdown.
