The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday that they’ve signed eight players to futures contracts for the 2021 season.
The full list includes:
- QB Jake Browning
- QB Nate Stanley
- CB Cordrea Tankersley
- FB Jake Bargas
- OL Zack Bailey
- CB Tae Hayes
- OT Blake Brandel
- S Luther Kirk
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Tankersley, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $3.17 million rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $673,000 for the 2020 season when he was waived.
The Dolphins placed Tankersley on the PUP list coming out of the preseason last year with a knee injury and later declined to activate him from the list. Miami ultimately waived him in July but re-signed him to their practice squad this past September.
The Vikings signed Tankersley to their practice squad and he was later added to the active roster.
In 2020, Tankersley appeared in two games for the Vikings and recorded two tackles and no sacks or interceptions.
