49ers HC Kyle Shanahan announced Monday that they’re placing S Adrian Colbert on injured reserveย with a high ankle sprain.
Shanahan added that Colbert isn’t a candidate to return from injured reserve later on in the year.
Colbert, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $2.48 million contract and set to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement.
In 2018, Colbert appeared in seven games for the 49ers and recorded 21 tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
