The 49ers have signed CB Brian Allen to their practice squad, per Allen’s agent.

Allen takes the place of CB Dontae Johnson, who was promoted to the active roster as the 49ers deal with some injuries at corner, per Mike Garafolo.
San Francisco’s practice squad currently includes:

- RB Josh Hokit
- WR Jauan Jennings

- LB Joe Walker
- WR Kevin White
- CB Brian Allen
Allen, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2017. He lasted just over two years in Pittsburgh before he was waived coming out of the preseason last year.
The Seahawks later signed him to their practice squad and he was on and off of the unit last year. Seattle opted to waive him a few weeks ago. Allen was briefly with the Bills at the end of camp.
For his career, Allen has appeared in 16 games and recorded one tackle.
