AFC East Notes: Bills, Dolphins, Jets

Bills

Bills GM Brandon Beane said “nothing’s changed” with RB LeSean McCoy regarding his on-going legal matter and that the team sees McCoy staying around long term.

Nothingโ€™s changed, and we see LeSean here for the future,โ€ Beane said, via Kate Brumback and John Wawrow of the AP. โ€œYou take all allegations seriously, but until the police say thereโ€™s something there, weโ€™re not going to act on anything without them saying thereโ€™s legit evidence. Itโ€™s an open investigation. Nothing has come forward that said any of these things are true. So until that would happen, I donโ€™t think anything will ever change.โ€

Dolphins

Dolphins WR Albert Wilson said CB Bobby McCain, who is converting to an outside corner, has the skills to play well in his new position.

โ€œItโ€™s always good to go against Bobby,โ€ Wilson said, via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. โ€œHim moving outside, itโ€™s the toughest fight. He plays really good technique, likes to get his hands on you. I definitely think [he can play outside]. He has the skills.โ€

Jets

  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Jets plan to take things slow with G Brian Winters as he is recovering from an injury and heโ€™s not expected to play in any game in the preseason.
  • According to Rapoport, the belief is that Winters will be ready for the opener.
