AFC Notes: Dolphins, Patriots, Steelers, Titans

Dolphins

Patriots

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Patriots RT LaAdrian Waddle suffered a minor knee sprain during Sunday’s win over the Titans. As of now, Waddle hasn’t been ruled out for the AFC Championship game against the Jaguars, but the plan is for him to be re-evaluated later in the week.
  • According to Ian Rapoport, Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (knee) is expected to return for the AFC Championship game.

Steelers

Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars that he “definitely” wants to be back in Pittsburgh next year. However, Bell admitted that there are “circumstances” that need to be addressed.

“Of course,” Bell said when asked if he wanted to be in Pittsburgh next season, via Katherine Terrell of ESPN. “I never want to leave this city, but obviously, circumstances and things like that. But I definitely don’t.”

When asked about his recent comments that he could sit out the 2018 season or retire if the Steelers franchised him again, Bell said he didn’t think his comments had any impact on his teammates.

No, not at all,” Bell said. “Guys weren’t talking about it or thinking about it. I wasn’t even thinking about it. At the end of the day, we were trying to win a Super Bowl. That was the main goal. Everybody wasn’t worried about it or thinking about it. I don’t think it was a distraction at all.

We have Bell featured in our Top 100  – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Titans

  • Terry McCormick hears that one interesting name to watch for the Titans head-coaching vacancy could be Eagles OC Frank Reich.
