AFC Notes: Dolphins, Patriots, Steelers, Titans

Dolphins

Patriots

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Patriots RT LaAdrian Waddle suffered a minor knee sprain during Sundayโ€™s win over the Titans. As of now, Waddle hasnโ€™t been ruled out for the AFC Championship game against the Jaguars, but the plan is for him to be re-evaluated later in the week.
  • According to Ian Rapoport, Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (knee) is expected to return for the AFC Championship game.

Steelers

Steelers RB Leโ€™Veon Bell told reporters after Sundayโ€™s loss to the Jaguars that he โ€œdefinitelyโ€ wants to be back in Pittsburgh next year. However, Bell admitted that there are โ€œcircumstancesโ€ that need to be addressed.

โ€œOf course,โ€ Bell said when asked if he wanted to be in Pittsburgh next season, via Katherine Terrell of ESPN. โ€œI never want to leave this city, but obviously, circumstances and things like that. But I definitely donโ€™t.โ€

When asked about his recent comments that he could sit out the 2018 season or retire if the Steelers franchised him again, Bell said he didnโ€™t think his comments had any impact on his teammates.

โ€œNo, not at all,โ€ Bell said. โ€œGuys werenโ€™t talking about it or thinking about it. I wasnโ€™t even thinking about it. At the end of the day, we were trying to win a Super Bowl. That was the main goal. Everybody wasnโ€™t worried about it or thinking about it. I donโ€™t think it was a distraction at all.โ€

We have Bell featured in our Top 100  โ€“ 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Titans

  • Terry McCormick hears that one interesting name to watch for the Titans head-coaching vacancy could be Eagles OC Frank Reich.
