Arizona State WR Brandon Aiyuk Undergoes Core Muscle Surgery

According to Mike Garafolo, Arizona State WR Brandon Aiyuk had core muscle surgery to fix an issue that had been lingering for the past few months.

Aiyuk had to withdraw from the Senior Bowl but was able to participate in some drills at the NFL Scouting Combine, including running a 4.50 40-yard dash time.

Given there likely will be no football activities for Aiyuk until training camp, Garafolo says the rookie decided to fix the issue now.

Aiyuk, 22, is seen as one of the better receivers in a deep 2020 class and could be as high as a first or second-round pick in the coming draft.

NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein compares him to Rams WR Robert Woods in his scouting report.

During his two-year college career, Aiyuk caught 98 passes for 1,666 yards and 11 touchdowns in 25 games.
