The Cleveland Browns announced Monday that they’ve cut 12 players and placed two on injured reserve,ย as they work to get down to the 75-man roster limit by Tuesday.
The Browns have cut:

- K Travis Coons
- QB Austin Davis
- DB Sean Baker
- WR Josh Boyce
- WR Ed Eagan
- FB Robert Hughes
- TE David Reeves
- OL Cory Tucker
- DL Nick Hayden
The Browns placed DL Nike Lawrence-Stample and RB Glenn Winston on injured reserve.
Kruger, 30, was in the fourth year of his five-year, $40.5 million contractย that includedย $20 million guaranteed. He was set to make a base salary ofย $6.5 million for the 2016 season.
In 2015,ย Kruger appeared in all 16 games for the Browns and recorded 27 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Hayden, 30, is a former sixth-round pick for the Panthers back in 2008. He spent three years in Carolina before joining the Bengals for a few months and later signing on with the Cowboys back in February of 2013.
Dallas elected to bring Hayden back on a one-year contract last year. Hayden just signed on with the Browns a month ago.
In 2015, he appeared in 16 games for the Cowboys last year and recorded 47ย tackles, no sacks, a fumble recovery and two pass defenses.ย Pro Football Focusย has Haydenย rated as the No. 115 interiorย defensive linemanย out of 123ย qualifying players.
Davis, 27, is in the second year of his three-year, $4.973 million contract and stands to make ย base salary of $1.35 million for the 2016 season.
In 2015,ย Davis appeared in three games for the Browns and threw for 547 yards while completing 59.6 percent of his passes to go along with one touchdown and three interceptions.
Williams, 25, wound up signing on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his three-year, $1.53 million contractย and stands to make a base salary ofย $600,000 for the 2016 season.
In 2015,ย Williams appeared in 13 games and recorded 39 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles, two recoveries and two pass defenses.
