Ian Rapoport reports that the Browns have requested permission to speak with Texans QBs coach Sean Ryan for their offensive coordinator position.
Rapoport points out Ryan’s work with rookie QB Deshaun Watson this past season clearly has not gone unnoticed.
Browns HC Hue Jackson made it clear that he will be looking to hire an offensive coordinator for the 2018 season after he has handled the duties for his first two years in Cleveland.
Ryan 45, began his NFL coaching career with the Giants back in 2007 as their offensive quality control coach. He spent nine years in New York in a few positions before he was hired by the Texans as their WRs coach in 2016.
Houston elevated Ryan to their quarterbacks coach last year.
We’ll have more regarding the Browns’ offensive coordinator search as the news is available.
