The Tampa Bay Buccaneers terminated the contracts of QB Dan Orlovsky and RB Danny Ware on Thursday.
- Brian McIntyre notes that these moves will save the Buccaneers $2.35 million in both cash and cap space.
Orlovsky, 29, backed up Josh Freeman last year, but was no longer part of the team’s plans as they’ve been rumored to have interest in several quarterback options this offseason.
It’s seems realistic that they could target a quarterback prospect in this year’s draft, considering that they’ve mentioned that they would like to bring in competition for Freeman.
Adam Caplan tweets that Cardinals QB Brian Hoyer could be someone to keep an eye as new Buccaneers QB coach John McNulty was with the Cardinals last season.
Arizona reportedly has Hoyer on the trading block after they acquired Carson Palmer and signed Drew Stanton during free agency. This is at least something to watch.
