Chargers Signing QB Cardale Jones To Practice Squad

Ian Rapoport reports that the Chargers are signing QB Cardale Jones to their practice squad after he passed through waivers unclaimed on Monday.

The Chargers’ practice squad now consists of:

1. DE Patrick Afriyie
2. WR Dylan Cantrell
3. S A.J. Hendy
4. LB D’Juan Hines
5. WR Andre Patton
6. DL Steven Richardson
7. T Trent Scott
8. TE Thomas Duarte
9. QB Cardale Jones

Jones, 25, was taken in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Bills. Buffalo traded Jones to the Chargers in July of last year in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.

Jones was entering the third year of his four-year, $2.72 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $630,000 for the 2018 season when the Chargers waived him this past weekend.

In 2016, Jones completed 6 of 11 passing attempts (54.5 percent) for 96 yards receiving and one interception.
