The Kansas City Chiefs officially signed DB Leon McQuay to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Friday.
The Chiefs have now signed 13 players to futures deals including:
- DT Cavon Walker
- LB Martrell Spaight
- WR Josh Crockett
- OT Ryan Hunter
- QB Chase Litton
- LB Rob McCray
- DB D’Montre Wade
- DT Joey Ivie
- TE David Wells
- LB Raymond Davison
- OT Pace Murphy
- DT Henry Mondeaux
- DB Leon McQuay
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
McQuay, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason last year and later added to the team’s practice squad.
McQuay was on and off Kansas City’s taxi squad last year.
In 2017, McQuay appeared in one game for the Chiefs and recorded four tackles and a pass defense.
