Niang is the first draft pick to take the NFL’s opt-out option and will start his rookie contract in 2021.
Niang, 21, was a three-year starter at TCU and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2018. The Chiefs selected him with the No. 96 pick in this year’s draft.
