Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Eagles VP of football operations Andrew Berry is the “favorite” to be hired as the Browns’ next GM and paired with new HC Kevin Stefanski.
Cleveland has already requested an interview with Berry along with Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds for their GM vacancy. However, Berry has been a popular name linked to the Browns as a GM candidate and has the support of key members in the organization.
Vikings assistant GM George Paton has also been mentioned as a name watch for the Browns, considering that he’s worked with Stefanski for a number of seasons.
Berry was hired by the Colts as a scouting assistant back in 2009 and worked his way up to pro scouting coordinator. The Browns would later hire Berry as their VP of Player Personnel for the 2016 season.
Berry departed Cleveland to become the Eagles VP of football operations lats February.
We’ll have more regarding the Browns as the news is available.
