Adam Caplan of the Sideline View mentions that the Philadelphia Eagles may shop WR DeSean Jackson around after applying their franchise tag on him.
Others such as NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora have echoed this idea in past weeks. The Eagles have said that they would like to retain Jackson publicly but that doesn’t mean that they would field offers for him much the same way they did last season with Asante Samuel. Philadelphia has done a good job in the past of securing value in trade when trading players like Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb so I wouldn’t expect them to deal Jackson unless they got decent value in return.
The problem with trading Jackson is that it will force them to find an adequate replacement at receiver and Jackson’s skill set is not easily replicated. This will most likely be one of the offseason’s topย story lines.

I don’t think they will find the value they thinnk he is worth on the trade market, especially after slapping the tag on him. He had a rough year last year, and it was obvious he was tanking his season away instead of trying to build value..He isn’t worth the price of the tag, and I think the Eagles would be best to sign him to a couple year deal worth less than what the tag would be and then shop him around for a young WR who has some potential, but has had some injuries and maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick..Is that fair?
