Adam Schefter reports that the Arizona Cardinals have received calls from the Giants, Dolphins, and Chargers about acquiring Josh Rosen.
Schefter adds that Rosen has been a “backup plan at best” for each of the teams.
According to Schefter, the Cardinals have “no issues” keeping Rosen and are prepared to keep him if they do not receive the right offer.
Earlier today, Matt Lombardo reported that the Giants and Cardinals remain in talks regarding a potential Rosen trade.
Last we heard, Josina Anderson said that the Cardinals have not received the kind of compensation they would prefer in a trade for Rosen and they feel like it should be at least a second-round pick.
A team source tells Anderson that Cardinals GM Steve Keim is still trying to come to grips with the fact that they’ve already paid Rosen a $10 million signing bonus as part of his rookie contract.
According to Anderson, Keim has “active ears” and is “ready to listen” and possibly leverage a desperate team.
Rosen, 22, is a former first-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $17,664,284 contract that includes an $10,926,792 signing bonus.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Cardinals to pick up in 2021.
In 2018, Rosen appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
We’ll have more regarding Rosen as the news is available.
