Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Giants are placing OL Matt Peart, WR Dante Pettis and TE Kaden Smith on the COVID-19 list Friday.
Earlier in the day, the Giants announced that three players had tested positive and this turns out to be the group.
The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.
Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.
Pettis, 25, is a former second-round pick of the 49ers back in 2018. After attempting to trade him the past year or so, the 49ers opted to waive Pettis a few weeks ago and he was later claimed by the Giants.
Pettis is currently in the third year of his four-year, $6,440,562 contract that included a $2,734,952 signing bonus with the 49ers. He stands to make base salaries of $961,870 and $1,252,805 over the final two years of the agreement.
In 2020, Pettis has been active for five games, but has yet to catch pass. He has totaled 18 kick return yards and another 14 punt return yards for the 49ers.
