Giants Re-Sign RFA C Brett Jones

The New York Giants announced Monday that they’ve re-signed restricted free agent C Brett Jones and TE Ryan O’Malley.

New York placed the second-round restricted tender on Jones, which will cost them $2.914 million for the 2018 season.

Jones, 26, was selected in the second round of 2013 CFL draft by the Calgary Stampeders. In just two years with the Stampeders, Jones has won CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie Award (2013) and the Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award (2014).

Jones signed on with the Giants back in 2015 and just finished a three-year, $1,575,000 deal. He took over for Weston Richburg last season after he was placed on injured reserve.

In 2017, Jones appeared in all 16 games for the Giants and Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 18 overall center out of 79 qualifiers.
