The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Saturday that they’ve cut five players including RB Tavien Feaster, OL Tyler Gauthier, OL Steven Nielsen, K Brandon Wright, and S Doug Middleton.
The Jaguars also placed DT Rodney Gunter on the Active/Non-Football Illness list.
Gunter, 28, was a fourth-round pick by the Cardinals out of Delaware State in 2015. He signed a four-year deal through the 2018 season before returning to the Cardinals last March on a one-year deal.
Gunter was placed on season-ending injured reserve back in December. He later signed a three-year deal with the Jaguars back in March.
In 2019, Gunter appeared in 13 games for the Cardinals and recorded 31 tackles and three sacks.
Middleton, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2016. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.
The Jets waived Middleton during the 2017 preseason with an injury designation and he later reverted to their injured reserve list. He later had a brief stint with the Dolphins before joining the Jaguars midseason last year.
In 2018, Middleton appeared in seven games and recorded 27 tackles, no interceptions and three pass defenses.
