Jaguars Waive DB Marcus Gilchrist, Promote DB Doug Middleton

The Jacksonville Jaguars officially waived DB Marcus Gilchrist on Tuesday and promoted DB Doug Middleton to their active roster.

• The Jaguars also signed DE Dewayne Hendrix and RB Jeremy McNichols to their practice squad.

Gilchrist, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2011. After four years with the Chargers, Gilchrist signed a four-year, $22 million contract with $8.5 million guaranteed with the Jets in 2015.

From there, Gilchrist played for the Jets, Texans, Raiders and Lions before the Jaguars signed him to a contract a few weeks ago. 

In 2019, Gilchrist has appeared in three games for the Jaguars and recorded two tackles.
