Jets Promote RB Josh Adams To Active Roster

According to Manish Mehta, the Jets are promoting RB Josh Adams from the practice squad to the active roster Tuesday.

Jets starting RB Le’Veon Bell underwent an MRI yesterday, so this could be an indication that the team is nervous about Bell’s availability for this week’s game.

Mike Garafolo also mentions that another team was possibly considering signing Adams off the Jets practice squad.

Adams, 23, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame back in 2018. He signed a three-year, $1.71 million contract, but was waived coming out of the preseason as the Eagles trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

Philadelphia later signed Adams to their practice squad after clearing waivers. He was promoted to the active roster two games into the season.

The Eagles waived Adams coming out of the preseason this year and he caught on with the Jets practice squad.

In 2018, Adams appeared in 14 games for the Eagles and had 120 carries for 511 yards (4.3 YPC) and three touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 58 yards.
