Lions HC Matt Patrica confirmed Monday that LB Steve Longa has torn his ACL and will be placed on injured reserve.
Kyle Meinke reports that the Lions are expected to place LB Steve Longa on the season-ending injured reserve on Monday after suffering a torn ACL during Friday’s preseason game.
Longa, 23, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers back in 2016. He lasted just a few months in Seattle before he was waived and later signed to the Lions’ practice squad.
Since then, Longa has been on and off of the Lions’ taxi squad and returned to Detroit this past January on a futures contract.
In 2017, Longa appeared in 15 games for the Lions and recorded 13 tackles.
