NFL Notes: 49ers, Broncos, Chiefs, Giants & Patriots

49ers

• Matt Maiocco reports that 49ers RB coach Tom Rathman is expected to remain on HC Chip Kelly’s staff.

Broncos

• Broncos CB Chris Harris is not expected to try and jam receivers at the line of scrimmage due to the shoulder injury he aggravated during Sunday’s playoff game, per James Palmer of NFL Network. This could be something to watch for during the Broncos’ upcoming AFC Championship game.

Chiefs

• Joel Corry of CBS expects Chiefs FS Eric Berry to demand a contract that would make him the highest paid safety in the NFL, which would pay at least $10 million per season with $28.5 million guaranteed.

Giants

• According to Aaron Wilson, the Giants tried out WR Eric Rogers, RB Cameron Marshall and DT Euclid Cummings. 

Patriots

• Albert Breer believes it is unlikely for Patriots LB Jerod Mayo to remain in New England without taking a major paycut, since LB Jamie Collins and LB Dont’a Hightower‘s contracts come to an end after the 2016 season.
• Aaron Wilson reports that former Packers practice squad LB James Vaughters recently met with the Patriots.
