NFL Notes: Buccaneers, Dolphins, Falcons, Giants, & Rams

Buccaneers

• Pat Yaskinskas of ESPN writes that the Buccaneers should really consider the idea of trading QB Mike Glennon for a draft pick now that it’s clear they’ll be selecting a quarterback prospect No. 1 overall.

Dolphins

• ESPN’s Adam Caplan confirms that the Dolphins are trying to re-sign TE Charles Clay, but adds that he’ll have a “very strong” market should he make it to free agency.
• According to Caplan, teams view Clay as more of a move tight end/H-Back, and not just a typical tight end.

Falcons

• According to ESPN’s Vaughn McClure, the Falcons have “prioritized” re-signing free agent RB Antone Smith.

Giants

• Next up for the Giants is decisions regarding LB Jon Beason ($1.2 million roster bonus due March 14), LB Jameel McClain ($400,000 roster bonus due March 12), and CB Trumaine McBride ($225,000 roster bonus due March 14). (Adam Caplan)

• Nick Wagoner of ESPN thinks most likely outcome involving Rams OT Jake Long is that the team will release him and take the cap savings.
