NFL Notes: Cowboys, Jets, Patriots, Raiders, Ravens

Cowboys

• LB Bruce Carter (quad) is out for Week 5 and could end up being sidelined for 10-14 days. (Calvin Watkins)
• DT Henry Melton (hamstring, questionable) is expected to play in a limited fashion this weekend. (Calvin Watkins)

Jets

• WR Eric Decker confirmed that he will be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.

“Right now it’s a game-time decision,” Decker said, via Jane McManus of ESPN. “As I progress, that’s a decision I’ll make Sunday.“

• WR David Nelson (ankle) said he expects to play against the Chargers as long as he doesn’t suffer any setbacks. (Jane McManus)

Patriots

• CB Brandon Browner is unlikely to play in Week 5’s game against the Bengals, despite the fact that he is now eligible to return from his suspension. (Field Yates)

Raiders

• G Austin Howard recently told reporters that interim HC Tony Sparano will remain the team’s offensive line coach for the remainder of the season. (Steve Corkran)

Ravens

• Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com doesn’t see the Ravens starting S Will Hill any time soon give that he hasn’t practiced since Aug. 30.
