- QB Aaron Rodgers is not expected to practice until Thursday of next week.
“Aaron is doing well. He’s been in treatment during the practice period,” McCarthy said on Friday, viaย Weston Hodkiewicz of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “We’ll do the same tomorrow. I really don’t see him getting on the practice field until Thursday at the earliest.”
Ravens
- The Ravens have ruled out LT Eugene Monroe (ankle) for the Wildcard game.
Redskins
- ESPN’s John Clayton reports that the Redskins are expected to give former Chargers GMย A.J. Smithย an “enhanced position” in theย team’sย front office.
- According to Clayton,ย Smith is expected to relocate toย Washington, D.C., and take onย more responsibilities when it comes toย football decisions.
- Bruce Allen willย remain the team’s president and general manager.
Saints
Ian Rapoport reports that the Saints are parting ways with WRs coachย Henry Ellard and TEs coach Terry Malone.
- Rapoport adds that the Saints also fired DBs coach Andre Curtis.
According to Rapoport, the “big question” is still whether or not DC Rob Ryan will be back next year. Saintsย HC Sean Payton could decide to give Ryan “more suitable parts” to work with in 2015.
Rapoport wouldn’t be surprised if Ryan stay for another season.
