Falcons

• A source close to Falcons Owner Arthur Blank said that the team will not fire Head Coach Mike Smith during this season. (Jason Cole)

Jets

• GM John Idzik was unable to give a definitive answer when asked if the Jets have a franchise quarterback on their roster right now. (via Dom Cosentino)

Lions

• WR Calvin Johnson said that he “definitely expects to play” against the Dolphins this weekend. (via Tori Petry)

• S Mark Barron appealed to the struggling Rams as a long-term investment.  They can use this season to evaluate whether or not to pick up his fifth-year option. (Ian Rapoport)

Saints

• The Seahawks announced that they have waived WR Phil Bates and TE Brett Brackett.
