NFL Notes: Jason Pierre-Paul, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Ravens, & Steelers

Jason Pierre-Paul

Giants owner John Mara said he is โ€œbeyond the point where Iโ€™m annoyedโ€ with franchise DE Jason Pierre-Paul.

โ€œIโ€™m beyond the point where Iโ€™m annoyed,โ€ Mara told Mike Francesa in an interview on the FAN, via the New York Daily News. โ€œI wish heโ€™d handled it better but weโ€™re beyond that. Do I wish he came here and had our doctors look at him? Yes.โ€

Buccaneers

  • The Buccaneers announced that RT Demar Dotson does not need to undergo surgery to repair his sprained MCL and is expected to return around Week 2.

Chiefs

  • ESPNโ€™s Ed Werder reports that Chiefs LT Eric Fisher suffered a sprained ankle in Mondayโ€™s practice.
  • However, sources tell Werder that Fisher will likely only miss a couple weeks.

Ravens

  • Jason Cole reports that MRI results for Ravens first-round WR Breshad Perriman came back โ€œnormal.โ€
  • According to Cole, Perrimanโ€™s injury is just healing slow, and heโ€™s expected to be back in a week or so.

Steelers

Steelers new DC Keith Butler mentioned that they plan to employ both 3-4 and 4-3 in looks this season.

โ€œWeโ€™re going to have both. Weโ€™re going to have the 3-4, weโ€™re going to have the 4-3,โ€ Butler said, via the Observer-Reporter. โ€œWeโ€™re going to have things that we feel will give people problems. Weโ€™re going to use our personnel to get some mismatches if we can. Offenses are going to do that to us. Theyโ€™re going to try to do the same thing.โ€
