Odell Beckham: ‘I’m Not Going Anywhere’

Browns WR Odell Beckham told reporters on Wednesday that he wasn’t interested in playing anywhere else besides Cleveland, per Mike Garafolo.

“I’m not going anywhere. I’ll be here,” Beckham said. “We’ll figure this thing out.”

After joking about joining the CFL, Beckham added he “didn’t buy a house (in Cleveland) to sell it” per Mary Kay Cabot and he wants to put the rumors to bed about his status in Cleveland.

Those rumors have been sparked by a tumultuous first season for Beckham in Cleveland and by the star wide receiver himself. Beckham has played through injury for much of the year and is considering a potential surgery for a sports hernia after the season.

Beckham is also reportedly among a group of Browns players who are concerned about the direction of the team under HC Freddie Kitchens. Beckham’s frustrations with the offense have boiled over at times, with Beckham reportedly telling opponents to “Come get me” during games.

However, Beckham has confirmed himself reports that he won’t seek a trade this offseason and will instead try to make it work in Year 2 with the Browns.

Beckham, 27, was taken with the No. 12 overall pick by the Giants back in 2014. He was set to make a base salary of $8,459,000 for the 2018 season when he agreed to a new five-year extension worth up to $95 million and includes $65 million in total guarantees.

The Giants traded Beckham to the Browns this offseason for the No. 17 overall pick, their second third-round pick and S Jabrill Peppers.

Beckham stands to make base salaries of $16.75 million and $14 million over the next two years.

In 2019, Beckham has appeared in 14 games for the Browns and caught 67 passes for 910 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
